Today's spot to find short stories is the Short Story Archive.  What's great about this site is that stories are broken down by both genre and authors.  While you'll find many of the famed literary authors, you'll also find some of the best in genre like L. Frank Baum, Algernon Blackwood, Bret Hart, and Jack London.  If you're into Westerns this is a great spot to find some excellent shorts that are hard to find elsewhere.
